Torque/Rush Spey Weights

*Only for use on Galvan Torque and Rush 8-12 wt.

The Galvan Spey Weight is a 1 ounce brass washer that fits into the spool of Galvan Torque and Rush 8-12 wt reels, allowing the angler to increase the weight of the reel by either one or two ounces to balance Spey rod kits easily. A rubber gasket recessed into a groove in the washer's hole ensures a snug fit on the spindle and no unintended wobbling or rattling when in use. A threaded hole in each weight allows for easy removal of the weights from a reel using the included weight removal tool.

Instructions for putting on Spey Weights

Step one: Remove spool from frame.

Step two: On the back side of the spool you will see a space for torque weights. Place one of the weights into this space making sure that it sits all the way down. This will add 1oz. to the weight of your reel. If this not enough weight to balance out with your Spey rod, add the other weight to add a total of 2oz.

Instructions for removing Torque Weights

Step one: Remove spool from the frame.

Step two: Screw the extractor (tool included in kit) into the threaded hole of the torque weight. Pull up gently rocking back and fourth until the weight comes off. Repeat if you have more than one weight on your reel. Note: If for some reason a weight becomes stuck in the spool, try lubricating the rubber gasket with hand soap and water.
